For Amazon Studios and Makeready, filmmaker Philippe LacĂ´te’s love triangle thriller Killer Heat will feature Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, and Richard Madden.
The Jealousy Man, a short tale by Norwegian mystery writer Jo Nesbo, served as the inspiration for the movie, which follows identical brothers engaged in a deadly love triangle on a desolate Greek island. A local investigator with a history of jealousy is brought in to look into a murder.
In Crete, work on Killer Heat will begin in May.
In addition to his recent role in Rian Johnson’s Poker Face, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will next be featured in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley and John Carney’s Flora and Son. In addition to Big Little Lies, Woodley has appeared in The Descendants, The Fault in Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, and many other films and television shows.
In Citadel on Prime Video, Madden—who is most known for his role as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones—will next be seen alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Night of the Kings, which had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and was picked up by Neon, was directed by Lacôte.
The Deadly Heat script was written by Matt Charman with modifications by Roberto Bentivegna (House of Gucci). The movie is being produced by Brad Weston of Makeready, with Nesbo, Niclas Salomonsson, Gordon-Levitt, Tom Karnowski, and Collin Creighton serving as executive producers. Oscar Montemayor will serve as an associate producer.
WME is Gordon-agent. Levitt’s Range Media Partners and Hyperion are Woodley’s agents. While LacĂ´te is represented by CAA, Madden is represented by CAA and Anonymous Content.
